Mladiinfo Montenegro NGO organized, on 25 May in Njegošev park in Podgorica, an event as a part of World Day of Sport.
This included a physical training, in which our members, local citizens and high school students took part. The training was adjusted to all interested parties, regardless of physical fitness, sex or age. The aim of the campaign was to send a message to the citizens that sport and recreation are of great importance for the health of each individual. The main task of the training was to familiarize the participants with the importance of the preparation part for the main part of the training. This involved slow running, jumping jacks, hip extentions, squats, leg swings and push ups. At the training we also promoted our two summer camp which will take place on the Montenegrin coast. The first one takes place in Prcanj in the period from 22 to 29 June, all young people aged 10-18 years are eligible to apply, and the second one is scheduled in Sutomore from 1 to 7 September for people aging from 18 to 35.. As part of today’s action, in addition to the aforementioned training, our team played a friendly basketball match with high school students from Podgorica. World Day of Sport, also known as World Chalange Day is the world’s largest sporting event in which the cities all around the world organize events in order to attract as many participants in various sports and recreational activities. The aim is to promote a positive attitude towards a healthy, active and creative lifestyle. On the same date of 25 May former Yugoslavia celebrated the Youth Day which was part of the personality cult of Josip Broz Tito. Our organization was founded with the aim to improve the position of young people in Montenegro, through information, education and their active participation in society. We belive that young people should be the key actors in the development of community.
