“I am sure that today generations, as well as the generations that are coming, will be worthy guardians of libertarian heritage of July the 13th of Montenegro, aware that Montenegro is eternal in the amount of freedom, justice and equality of all of its citizens.“, Minister of Justice Zoran Pazin stated, at the round table “July the 13th–the value foundation of European Montenegro“, which was held at the Rectorate of University of Montenegro.
The rector of the University of Montenegro Danilo Nikolic said that the rebellion on the 13th of July 1941 was bunt against fascism and that it is not only a date, but it has shown the way to the future.
“There is not many dates to compare with that one connected with Montenegro.“, said Nikolic.
He pointed out that the rebellion is extension of decades fighting against decade injustice.
The Minister of Justice, Zoran Pazin has claimed he is convinced that today generations would be worthy of the former ones and that July the 13th 1941 represents the continuation of the matter from 1878 when Montenegro declared independence.
Pazin stated that Montenegro, even in the ’90s of last century has raised above events in the Balkans and on May the 21st 2006 restored the independence.
He quoted that Montenegro has always moved forward through history, when its citizens gathered in chivalry and humanity and not when they divided by faith or nationality.
Another thing he said is that July the 13th, as the symbol of insatiable aspiration of Montenegrin citizens for freedom and justice, is confirmation that in civil Montenegro the oldest and the most important are the values which connect Montenegrin citizens of all religions and nationalities.
“Only on this kind of values we can build state identity of modern Montenegro, which is more profound and older than all of our differences.“, vice president of the Government said.
He added that the heritage of July the 13th is big moral capital of today Montenegro, but also a clear mark of its future development and progress.
“However, today Montenegro should definitely be reminded of historic delusions and wanderings of Montenegrin society that has been necessarily followed by deviation of basic national values of freedom, justice and equality. These values nobody gave to Montenegro as a present, but for them during centuries Montenegrin men and women of all faiths and nationalities have lived and died. These bright examples of chivalry and humanity oblige even today all the citizens to whom the values of libertarian Montenegro are at heart, to decisively oppose to the actual last winces of dark Balkan ideologies.”, Pazin stated.
He stressed that just from the bright libertarian tradition of July the 13th, today Montenegro draws the moral right to take with pride, the place that belongs to it in the community of the most progressive countries in the world.
“Big part of this century dream has already been realized. It is hard in international relations even to imagine level of unity, confidence and closeness among countries higher than this, which Montenegro has accomplished with the most developed countries in the world, through the membership in NATO alliance. Today we are part of the community of free and safe countries which are ready to decisively protect all of the member states, at the principle – All for one, one for all. I am convinced that the persistence in respecting the values of July the 13th of freedom, justice, equality and solidarity, will pave the way to Montenegrin society to full membership in European Union, considering that on the same values the idea of united Europe was based. I am sure that today generations, as well as the generations that are coming, will be worthy guardians of libertarian heritage of July the 13th of Montenegro, aware that Montenegro is eternal in the amount of freedom, justice and equality of all of its citizens.“, said Pazin.
