Jovan in Perugia

Experience: Jovan Popović

I had the honor to take part in the media literacy training organized by Mladiinfo Montenegro, which was held in Perugia, Italy, from April 4-10, 2022. within the “Media & Information Literacy 4 Youth Workers” project.

Expectations were high, considering that I have a great interest in all types of media content creation. However, there is probably no event that can fulfill the expectations of a young journalist in a better way than attending the biggest journalism festival in Europe. In the role of a reporter, me and my colleagues attended various panels where we discussed issues of social importance with experts from the given fields. Also, colleagues from other countries shared many tools for creating a quality media product, which was the reason why I felt motivated and ready to raise topics at the local level that are not expressed in our media space.

On the other hand, there were many informal gatherings and conversations with young people from different parts of the world who are currently training in Europe. We talked about our cultures and the problems of our communities. We collectively thought about the solution for the best implementation of the European value system, and therefore I can say that I was surrounded by a large number of prosperous young people. During the stay in Perugia, the city of chocolate, kisses, jazz music, artists, there was a lot of enthusiasm and laughter, so positive emotions deeply prevailed in this experience. If I were to describe the experience in one word, I would say that it was dynamic, and such experiences develop the personality and that is something that young people are looking for. At the very end, I would recommend everyone to sign up for programs of this type, because it is a great way for a young person to improve mobility, to be a part of the change and feel productive.
