Representatives of NGO Mladiinfo Montenegro participated in the seminar on social entrepreneurship “Social Entrepreneurship – Step Forward”, which was held in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and lasted from May 27th to Jun 4th 2018th year. The Delegation of Montenegro was represented by: Damir Babačić, Dino Ramujkić and Marketing Manager of the organization Elma Selmanović.
The aim of the project was to raise the awareness of youth organizations and youth about the importance of social entrepreneurship as a new sector in the Western Balkans, but also in other European countries. Special emphasis is placed on developing entrepreneurial competences of young people, increasing the knowledge of participants in the field of social entrepreneurship, who will then be able to actively engage in their community and work to reduce youth unemployment.
Participants who were not at the training course in Albania had the opportunity to get acquainted with the main activities during the first day of the seminar and what their peers learned there. Also, through group work, ideas were developed on how to create and develop an incentive entrepreneurial environment. Participants learned what the role of youth organizations is in the process of developing their own business as well as the potential of key cross-sectoral cooperation.
In addition, the seminar participants attended a roundtable of representatives of local NGOs at which participated representative of AIESEC in Bosnia and Herzegovina, then a representative of the United Nations in BiH and an entrepreneur, marketing expert and motivational trainer Kemal Balihodžić.
A visit to local NGOs and communities working on the contribution of entrepreneurship and a better status of young people was organized with the aim of presenting positive opportunities from practice. Participants thus visited the NGO Munja, within the framework of which portal Hoću.ba works, which is as well working on empowering young people, social entrepreneurship and employment of young people. They then visited the Municipality of Novi Grad Sarajevo and the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Sarajevo. The aim of the visit was the exchange of experiences and good practices related to entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship and youth employment. On that occasion, the Head of the Department for Local Economic Development Hazima Pecirep presented to the guests the Municipality of Novi Grad Sarajevo, as well as the activities and projects that this local community is implementing in order to develop entrepreneurship and employment of young people. On behalf of the Mayor of the Municipality, mr. Semir Efendić, Assistant Director of the Service for Local and Economic Development Džemaludin Kahrović, addressed the present and talked with the participants about the good practices that the Municipality implements when it comes to facilitating the registration of businesses, and presented other measures aimed at solving the problem of unemployment, as well as other problems encountered by the citizens of this municipality.
Representatives from different countries also had the opportunity to present their organization and its work, to get acquainted with different cultures, enjoy socializing, parties, and enjoy the charms of Sarajevo.
The realization of the seminar was provided with the financial support of the EU, and it was implemented by the Centre for the Development of Social Entrepreneurship from Sarajevo, within the framework of the Erasmus + program. The project was attended by young people from: Montenegro, Serbia, Bosnia, Macedonia, Albania, Spain, Bulgaria, Romania and Italy.
