m!M marked the European Day of languages

On September 26, 2020, the NGO Mladiinfo Montenegro (m!M) marked the European Day of languages. The action was done in three segments, the first segment was an online campaign, the second quiz and the third motivational messages with the topic “why learn a foreign language”. The quiz was held on the Instagram account of our organization and aimed to encourage citizens to test their knowledge in these areas. Motivational messages were also published on our Instagram page to encourage the importance and benefits of learning foreign languages.

European Day of languages ​​is celebrated on 26 September, as proclaimed by the Council of Europe on 6 December 2001, at the end of the European Year of Languages ​​(2001), co-organized by the Council of Europe and the European Union. Its aim is to encourage language learning across Europe.

The general objectives of the European Day of languages ​​are: to warn the public of the importance of language learning and to diversify the range of languages ​​learned, in order to increase multilingualism and intercultural understanding; promote Europe’s rich linguistic and cultural diversity; encourage lifelong language learning in and out of school. In accordance with these rules, people, young and old, are encouraged to attend a language or be especially proud of their existing language skills. Also, those responsible for providing access to language learning are encouraged to make it easier for people to learn a range of languages ​​and to support language promotion initiatives. Emphasis is also placed on learning a language other than English.
