Join us in a voluntary blood donation campaign

On the occasion of the eighth birthday of the organization, NGO Mladiinfo Montenegro traditionally organizes the campaign of voluntary blood donation. The action will take place on Friday, March 29, from 11 am to 2 pm at the Blood Transfusion Institute of Montenegro.

We invite all humane citizens of Montenegro, especially young people, to respond and donate precious fluids. Voluntary blood donation is not only a human gesture that you help others. It’s a good way to help yourself.

The body quickly compensates for the lost amount of blood. For 48 hours, plasma compensates, leukocytes for a few hours, for 3 to 5 days of platelets, for erythrocytes for 4 weeks, and for about 8 weeks and the content of iron in erythrocytes. The level of hemoglobin is reduced by about 10g / L. With adequate nutrition, the value of hemoglobin returns to the previous value for about 8 weeks. The bone marrow is stimulated to produce new, young blood cells.

Blood supply improves circulation and reduces the risk of myocardial infarction in men who give blood 2 to 3 times a year, as well as women in menopause. Also, blood viscosity, a risk factor for cardiovascular disease, can be reduced by regular donation of blood.

The research has shown that blood donors have a lower level of iron in their blood, which also reduces the risk of getting cancer, primarily cancer of the liver, lungs, colon, and throat.

Voluntary blood donation is not a diet, but if it means something to you, then we tell you that when we give about half a liter of blood we burn, on average, 650 calories.

The main goal of the organization is to improve the position of youth, informing, promoting volunteerism and active participation in society, and raising the awareness of the society about issues and problems that concern young people. M! M strives to provide young people with the conditions to fulfill their goals and needs, as well as the manifestation of talents and opportunities, all for the benefit of the entire society.
