NGO Mladiinfo Montenegro attended the training “Advocacy in order to solve problems in the field of PWD protection”, within the PWD project participate and decide, implemented by CRNVO – Center for Development of Non-Governmental Organizations, with financial support from the Ministry of Justice, Human and Minority Rights.
The training was held from February 9 to 11 at the Voco Hotel in Podgorica. The training was held in order to strengthen the capacity of organizations of persons with disabilities and organizations dealing with this area, ie to acquaint the representatives of these organizations with the process of public advocacy. Coaches Ana Novaković Đurović and Lidija Knežević, sharing their many years of experience, through group work and numerous practical applications, trained the participants on the concept of public advocacy, strategies and tactics, coming to the development of the action plan. The training started by introducing the participants, presenting the goals and work plan of the same. Then, the participants together defined the concept of advocacy and through exercises identified and analyzed the problems of advocacy, and later presented them. On the second day of the training, the focus was on problem research, where participants in group work researched topics, found goals and target groups of advocacy. On the third day, the tactics and messages of public advocacy were discussed. Then, the participants had the opportunity to apply what they learned at the training in the development of the advocacy action plan. Through practical and team work, as well as the development of an action plan, the training encouraged the participants to a logical and concrete methodological way of thinking that will contribute to the later development, not only of action plans, but also project development, analysis and the like.
