The NGO Mladiinfo Montenegro (m!M) will provide logistical support to the FIAT festival this year as well. Our volunteers will help the organizers so that everything goes in the best order and with respect to the recommendations of the National Coordination Body.
The festival will be held from September 4th to 13th at the Cultural-Information Center Budo Tomovic (KIC) under the symbolic motto “Fiat Free Zone” which suggests “a space of artistic freedom, openness and security, due to the exceptional importance of culture, especially in extraordinary circumstances.”
The complete repertoire was presented at today’s press conference, which was held in the KIC hall.
The contents of FIAT will be performed primarily outdoors, in full compliance with the measures prescribed by the Institute of Public Health and the National Coordination Body for Infectious Diseases. These are the basketball court in Njegos Park, the roof terrace and the hall of KIC “Budo Tomovic”, as well as Dabovici in Danilovgrad where the festival will be closed on September the 13th with a performance “FIAT art zone Live water – Dabovici BB” by artist Tamara Vujosevic Mandic.
The festival starts on Friday with a multimedia performance that combines music, buto dance performance and installations – “Elementals”, at 9 pm on the roof terrace of the Cultural-Information Center “Budo Tomovic”.
After a series of organizational problems in the countries from which the performances were to come, as well as the situation in Montenegro, the choice was reduced to two programs from France: “Unstable” by Christoph Huisman, which examines the fragility of artists and the world around and “Vivisection credenza” by Marguerite Bord, Rafael Cotten and Pierre Menier.
The accompanying theater selection consists of three projects from Montenegro: the student play “Antigone 2.0”, directed by professor of literature Miroslav Minic, whose premiere is expected at the Festival, then the play “God of Massacre” produced by the Royal Theater “Zetski dom” directed by Sinisa Evtimov and the multimedia performance “Elementals”.
A book of poetry and prose “Stench for the breath” by Montenegrin actress Gordana Micunovic, as well as “Sirens for alarm” by Nikola Nikolic will be presented. “Views of Podgorica’s modernity” is the title of the jubilee of the column “Podgoricarenje” in Pobjeda’s magazine “Objektiv”, the promotion of which will also be held at the Festival.
The film program of the Festival of International Alternative Theater this year is dedicated to the short form and alternative film of recent Montenegrin production, so it will be shown: “Full head of joy” directed by Branislav Milatovic, “Artist and investigator” directed by Danilo Marunovic, “Great achievements” directed by Nikola Vucinic, “Teplice ’78” directed by Slaven Sosic and “Praskozorje” by Andrija Mugosa.
The music program will mark the experimental project of film director Nemanja Becanovic “metaSound”, whose music relies on the tradition of modern classical music, from musique concrete to film and theater avant-garde music, and has its foothold in popular music, primarily in noise and kraut-rock.
