NGO Mladiinfo Montenegro (m! M) organized a workshop on violent extremism on Friday April 19th 2019. The workshop was held in the youth club of the Economic School SUB, starting at 12:30 pm. The two-day workshop was a continuation of “Violent extremism and intercultural dialogue”, which was held in Albania on April 21st.
A workshop on violent extremism was intended for high school students. The participants had the opportunity to learn more about violent extremism and radicalization, their impact through history. A special focus was on spreading violent extremism in the Western Balkans, as well as ways to prevent radicalization through constructive dialogue, informing young people and spreading contradictions through social networks.
The workshop lasted for 90 minutes and the lecturers were volunteers of the NGO Mladiinfo Montenegro who underwent training for the prevention of violent extremism and radicalism.
NGO Mladiinfo Montenegro is a partner in the project Violent Extremism vs Intercultural Learning and Peace, which implemented the projects of Vullnetare Nderkombetare (PVN) (Albanian Volunteer Projects) from Albania with 7 other non-governmental organizations from Bosnia and Herzegovina , Croatia, Greece, Serbia, Macedonia, Kosovo and Turkey.
The project aims to build the capacity of youth workers, activists, young teachers, volunteers and teachers to build peaceful societies by having an active role in preventing violent behavior and extremism. Within the project, 37 people have been trained in Durres, Albania to acquire knowledge and skills to prevent violent extremism and radicalism.
