NGO “Mladiinfo Montenegro” held on January 16th. 2020 Workshop on CV production at the premises of the Business Center in the Department Store.
Representatives of Mladiinfo Montenegro spoke about experiences from the project “Increasing the Quality of Activities Targeting Rural Youth” Within the framework of this project, they attended trainings, seminars in Greece, Serbia, Albania, Northern Macedonia, Denmark.
The aim of the workshop was to inform attendees about the proper preparation of the CV, how and how best to present themselves to the employer when applying for job vacancies, student exchange competitions and the like. The goal of CV is to present yourself in the best light and thus stand out from the competition.
Workshop participants are approached about how to make the right CV, which will help with employment. A CV can also be attached when applying for a scholarship. The workshop stated that the CV should include personal information, education, professional experience, relevant courses and seminars, knowledge of foreign languages and computer skills, personal attributes, hobbies and other notes, if any.
The representative of Mladiinfo Montenegro, Anđela Radovic, explained in detail the basic items that the CV must retain. If your CV attracts someone’s attention, that person will take a closer look at your personal information and thus pay attention to this term. When providing personal or contact information, your CV should include: first and last name, e-mail address, mobile phone number (it may be fixed, if you will be available to that number for most of the day). When it comes to work experience, it should be emphasized that it is the most important point in the whole CV, and it should definitely be the biggest focus here. Employers view work experience as a list of your options and generally draw conclusions from your previous experience, in the sense that what you have done and achieved with your former employers will continue to do the same for them. The next item is education, it should indicate the highest level of your education and indicate below: Name of educational institution, direction, period of study / education or year of graduation and diploma / title. You can also write additional information (scholarships you have received, awards you have won and you can highlight what you think is important in these achievements), professional conferences and seminars you have attended, which are relevant to the position you are applying for, and which have you attended a relatively recent time, for example, ideally not older than 5 years. You can devote more attention and space to this part if you do not have work experience or it is scarce, another important point is knowing your computer skills. For most job positions, it will be enough to work in an MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Power Point …) and on the Internet, unless you apply for a position that requires some specific and advanced knowledge, then state the expertise you have. If you have completed a computer course, be sure to state it as well as the institution where you acquired this knowledge. Write down any professional programs you know how to use and determine your level of knowledge (beginner, intermediate, advanced, expert), List all the languages you use, indicating how well you know the language (beginner, intermediate or advanced). Also, indicate if you have completed a language course, certificate and / or diploma, as well as the institution where you acquired this knowledge. Keep in mind that it will be very easy for an employer to check how well you know a foreign language. When it comes to your personalities, always list those you think would be suitable for the job, said a spokeswoman for Mladiinfo Montenegro.
A biography should present you in the best light, in a concise and beautifully structured manner, told at the workshop how to write a proper CV.
The participants who attended the workshop were high school and college students. Some of them do not have their CV, so they pointed out that this workshop helped them to create the best and most original CV they will need in their further employment.
